| Missing a Lot |

Some time after the funeral of his girl friend of thirty years, a Tennessee man was asked why they'd never married. His response: "Well, I never brought up the subject, and neither did she." Then as an afterthought, he added, "My friends tell me I missed a lot."
People we know need a relationship with Jesus. And we know they're "missing a lot." When your friend is asked why he or she was not a Christian, will they give the same reply? "Well, I never brought up the subject, and neither did she/he." Don't discount Christ's command to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."
"All the world" includes our own little world-our mechanic, or hairdresser, or convenience store clerk, or the young mother down the street. Pray silently, then ask seriously, "In all the time I've known you, I've never asked: "Do you have any interest in spiritual things?"
Be ready for the Spirit to guide you in what to say in reply to their answers. You'll be amazed at the positive responses you'll get! |

Dear God, help us to realize that we aren't the only people who have a yearning for You. Help us to show those around us that we want to help them follow You. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.

| 많은 것을 놓치다 |
|
| "하나님이 우리에게 주신 것은 두려워하는 마음이 아니요 오직 능력과 사랑과 근신하는 마음이니." ( 디모데후서 1:7) |

삼십년 동안 사귀어온 사랑하는 여인의 장례를 치르고 얼마 지나지 않아 테네시 주에 사는 이 남자는 그 여인과 결혼하지 않은 이유를 질문 받았습니다. 남자의 대답은 이러했습니다. "글쎄요, 저나 제 애인이나 결혼 문제를 언급한 적이 없었어요." 그러고 나서 여담으로 이런 말을 덧붙였습니다. "친구들 말이, 제가 많은 것을 잃었다고 하더라고요."
예수님과의 관계가 필요한 사람을 알고 있습니다. 그들도 많을 것을 잃었다는 것을 압니다. 여러분의 친구에게 그리스도인이 아닌 이유를 묻는다면, 친구의 대답 역시 같은 식일까요? "글쎄요, 그런 말을 꺼낸 적도 없고 친구도 마찬가지였지요." "온 세상에 나가서 모든 족속에게 복음을 가르치라."는 예수님의 지상명령을 우리가 무시해서는 안됩니다.
'온 세상'에는 우리가 만나는 작은 세상, 즉 수리공이나 헤어 디자이너, 편의점의 직원, 거리를 걸어가는 젊은 엄마가 포함되어 있습니다. 은밀히 기도하고 난 뒤에 이런 진지한 질문을 건네 보십시오. "제가 그 동안 한번도 이런 질문을 해 본 적이 없었는데, 영적인 것에 관심이 있습니까?"
마음의 준비를 하시고 성령의 인도에 따라 상대방의 반응에 합당한 대답을 하십시오. 상대방의 긍정적인 반응에 깜짝 놀랄 것입니다. |

| 하나님, 하나님을 그리워하는 사람이 저희뿐이 아니라는 사실을 깨닫게 하소서. 주위 사람들에게 저들 역시 하나님을 따르도록 돕고 싶은 저희 소망을 보여주게 하소서. 귀하신 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘. |
