| Missing a Lot |

V: Good morning, Don.
D: Good morning, Vicki.
V: Can you imagine a man who dates a girl for thirty years and never gets married?
D: I suppose it is possible, but it is hard to imagine. Why do you ask?
V: Today's Power for Today author talks about this man.
D: So, why didn't they get married?
V: The man said that he never "brought up" (or introduced) the subject, and neither did she.
D: Wow! I think they had an interesting relationship.
V: The author also tells us that the man finally said as an "afterthought" (a thought which came later), "My friends tell me I missed a lot."
D: He really did miss a lot. He could have had many years of happy marriage, and even raised a family.
V: And maybe by that time, even had some grandchildren. But now it was too late.
D: Why? What happened?
V: The woman finally died. So, the man will never have a chance to get married to her now.
D: I think I am starting to realize the spiritual lesson of the author.
V: Really? What do you think it is?
D: I think that we have known some people for many years and we have never told them about Jesus.
V: Yes, and they are really "missing a lot" too.
D: And for some of our friends, it may be too late.
V: The author tells us not to "discount" (or reduce) the command of Jesus to tell the whole world the gospel.
D: Maybe one person we meet today needs to also meet Jesus. God bless your day.

| 많은 것을 놓치다 |
|
비키: 안녕히 주무셨어요, 여보?
단: 예, 당신도 잘 잤어요?
비키: 당신, 한 여자와 30년 동안 결혼도 하지 않은 채 연애만 했던 남자가 있었다면 믿을 수 있겠어요?
단: 아주 드문 일이지만 가능하다고 생각해요. 왜 그런 질문을 하는데요?
비키: 오늘 본문에서 이런 사람에 대해 말하고 있더라고요.
단: 그 사람은 왜 결혼을 하지 않았나요?
비키: 그 사람도, 그 상대 여자도 그 문제를 전혀 꺼내지 않았대요.
단: 와! 특이한 커플이네요.
비키: 작가는 또한 그 사람이 결국 말하기를 “친구들이 제게 너무 많은 것을 잃었다고 말하더군요.”라고 했다는군요.
단: 제가 생각하기에도 그래요. 행복한 결혼생활도 누리고 가정도 일구는 기쁨을 그는 놓친 거죠.
비키: 그 나이 대에는 손자도 봤을 텐데요. 하지만 그러기엔 너무 늦었지요.
단: 왜요? 무슨 다른 이유가 있었대요?
비키: 그가 그렇게 할 수 없었던 건, 그 때 그녀가 이미 세상에 없었기 때문이었대요.
단: 오늘 작가가 우리에게 남기는 교훈이 무엇인지 알 것 같아요.
비키: 그래요? 무엇이라고 생각하는데요?
단: 우리는 몇몇 사람들과 오랜 시간 교제를 나누면서도 예수님에 대해 결코 얘기해주지 않지요.
비키: 그래요, 그 사람들도 많은 것을 잃어가고 있는 셈이죠.
단: 더군다나 그들 중 몇몇 사람들과는 그러기에도 너무 늦은 것 같고요.
비키: 복음을 세상 사람들과 나누라는 주님의 명령을 충실히 지키라는 것이 오늘 작가가 말하고자 하는 바인 것 같아요.
단: 오늘도 주님과 함께 모든 사람들을 만나도록 해요. 오늘도 축복 받는 하루 되길 바래요.
비키: 하나님이 도우시길 기도 할께요. |
